MISSION STATEMENT
It is Adult Learning Systems of Oregon's mission
to promote the full inclusion of people with developmental and intellectual
disabilities in the life of their communities.
Adult Learning Systems of Oregon believes that each person
has the right to be involved and is an important part of their
community. Our agency strives to search for events and activities
that not only fulfill our participant's goals, but also meets all
accessibility needs that our participants may need to make the
event both enjoyable and safe.

Adult
Learning Systems of Oregon is a non-profit agency that provides residential
and vocational services to individuals with a variety of special needs.
We strive to promote our programs, staff and management to provide competent,
caring and quality services to the individuals we serve. We promote quality,
self worth, independence and choice regardless of level of special needs.
Adult Learning Systems of Oregon promotes competent staff by providing
a variety of training programs, including: First Aid and CPR, Blood Born
pathogens, Oregon Intervention Systems, Mandatory Abuse Reporting, Participant's
rights, core competency and medication administration. We promote a caring
environment with staffing patterns to meet each participant's needs.
All staff undergo a background criminal history check (through the Oregon
State Police and the FBI) and a drug test screening.
•BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors of AlSO is made up of a culturally diverse group of citizens
from a wide variety of perspectives that care about the community, participants,
and the services provided. Participant representatives serve on the Board. Participants,
family and guardians are asked for input at all levels of the corporation to
ensure their satisfaction.
•MANDATORY ABUSE REPORTING
Adult Learning Systems of Oregon believes in creating an environment, free from
abuse and neglect and deals with all allegations seriously and promptly. All
staff are trained in mandatory abuse reporting. Staff is trained to report any
suspected abuse and neglect to both their immediate supervisor and to County
Protective Services.
•QUALITY ASSURANCE
We promote quality through self-audits and licensing through the state of Oregon
and Oregon Administrative Rules. We have several committees, which address internal
quality assurance issues. All committees monitor ongoing programs and make suggestions
for growth and quality improvements.
•INDIVIDUAL SERVICE PLANS
Adult Learning Systems of Oregon utilizes individual service plans to make
an agenda for each participant outlined with the goals for the upcoming year.
Goals include, community integration, medical, financial and safety. We work
with a team of individuals, which are important in each participant's life
to create a working individual service plan, to best meet the individuals
needs, wants and goals.
•CONSULTANTS
Adult Learning Systems of Oregon contract with a variety of consultants to
assure that our participants receive the highest quality of care. Our consultants
include, behavior consultant, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech
pathologist, registered nurses, nutritionist and other specialists to enhance
our participant's lives. |
